Inside the product

The Self Assessment return hub

Every client year looks like this: identity, tax year, status, then six steps from personal details to HMRC file.

Scope

What Self Assessment Software is not

Clear scope is how customers and search engines trust us. Buy the right job elsewhere — keep the SA return here.

Not bookkeeping

No invoices, bank feeds or VAT. Keep FreeAgent, Xero or QuickBooks.

Not corporation tax

No CT600, iXBRL or Companies House. Use dedicated corporation tax software for that.

Not an accountant

Crunch includes a human. This is software. You stay responsible for the figures.

Not MTD quarterly — yet

Year-end Self Assessment is included. Quarterly ITSA is a later add-on.

FAQs

Common questions

Short answers on price, credits, MTD and what we are not.

What is Self Assessment Software?

Dedicated UK Self Assessment software for the SA100 (and SA101–SA110) plus the partnership SA800 pack. Prepare free — pay when you file. It is not bookkeeping or a full practice suite.

How much does it cost?

Individuals: Employment £39, Self-employed & property £49, Partnership £69 per tax year (ex VAT), charged when you file. Accountants buy filing credits: 10 for £179, 25 for £349, 50 for £599, 100 for £999 (ex VAT).

How are accountants charged?

Practices buy credit packs. One credit = one client tax year at filing. Drafting never uses a credit. Unlimited staff logins are included.

Does it support Making Tax Digital for Income Tax?

Year-end Self Assessment is included today. MTD quarterly Income Tax updates are a later add-on — not in the current public price.

Is this a replacement for FreeAgent, Xero or Capium?

No. Keep bookkeeping and practice suites for invoices, bank feeds, CT and payroll. Use Self Assessment Software for dedicated year-end SA100 production.
